Our fund has been founded in June 2021 by the passionate Kyiv fans of rugby and former leading players of the National Rugby Team of Ukraine. In peacetime, we promoted and developed the rugby scene in Ukraine by getting kids involved in the sport in Kyiv and in Ukraine as a whole.

Our main goal was to restore the popularity of rugby among youth, to find partners and establish friendly connections with schools, to provide all the necessary rugby equipment to enable people willing to train and play the sport, to destroy the negative myths about rugby, to build new locations where it can be played, to find investors and patrons and to prepare promotional campaigns about the game.

So as you understand we were trying to get as many children to discover rugby as a sport and to give them a chance to realize themselves by playing the game if they become passionate about it. We were watching as a new generation of rugby fans and players was growing, we were amazed by how excited and passionate they became in the game, how devoted they were in their training and how they were looking forward toward their bright future.

But on 24th of February all our ambitious plans came to a screeching halt and were destroyed by the russian aggressors, who came to our land to destroy us and our homes

Everytime we entered the rugby field, we were ready for a fierce battle, but it was always filled with respect and everyone agreed to play by the rules, where the winner can only be determined by skill and passion in a fair competition, even if it involves getting injured in the process. But it was never about about hurting someone, especially if they are vulnerable and did nothing to provoke it. This is what we were taught by the game, this is what the world of rugby is.

On 24th of February we were taken out of that world to a world where there is nothing fair, no morals, no laws. A world where children and woman are killed and raped, where out homes are pillaged, where our cities are being flattened and destroyed.

Of course, we could not stand aside and that is why we are asking anyone who considers themselves a true rugby fan to join our cause and help us.
